Fund raising for Welsh Air Ambulance

Members of North Wales TRF had the pleasure of a visit to Caernarfon Airport in August to present a cheque for £2500 to the Welsh Air Ambulance. They were warmly greeted by Debra Sima, the Air Ambulance’s community fundraiser and Carl Hudson, one of the service’s critical care paramedics, who showed them round the amazing, life-saving helicopter.

Neil Thompson: “As the Welsh Air Ambulance is a charity relying on donations, it is always a great pleasure to be able to help support their amazing work, even in a small way, as you never know when you, a family member or friend might need it.”

The money was raised over a couple of annual trail riding and camping weekends organised by Neil ‘Timpo’ Thompson and Mike Rowlands, where the riders attending make donations. First off is the season-opening ‘March Moon’, organised by Neil, which has been happen- ing since 2008, at the Green Inn, Llangedwyn. Then in July, Mike Rowlands (North Wales TRF’s treasurer) organises a weekend in Dolgellau, another fun event with over 30 people attending and camping at Torrent Walk campsite.
